There are a lot of things you can't do in just the 1st year proly. Won't have the renown to field a lot of troups or the quality (600+ prof) of a good CKO so you need to scale the diff. You can still beat the game in 1 year without CKO, with just a KO upgraded or just with Hero Adventurer and factional troups. I doubt all it's doable in 1 year even on the lowest difficulty.
